When I was looking at schools six years ago one thing came to mind. $$$$$

The wife of one of my students (who was interested in persuing her private cert.) came away from a demo flight with an an FIT instructor not wanting to fly again because of his lack of attention during preflight and failure to answer any of her questions. Her husband has talked her into taking a flight with me when she comes back to STL this fall.
