How many safeguards (beside the one between the ears) are there on the C-17 to prevent a gear up landing? Obviously, these can be over-ridden, but in their entirety? Even past intermediate flap settings? Red lights still there? Horn? Aural warnings?
Every plane I've ever flown with wheels that go up and down have a point to which you can no longer cancel warnings.
