Speaking of Codeshare....I was behind a WestJet -700 this morning in FORT LAUDERDALE! That's a long way from home for them.
Fort Lauderdale is nothing for WestJet. They fly to Barbados, Cancun, and Maui now. Their business model for transborder flights seems to revolve around frigid Canadians migrating south to thaw out. Every destination south of Canada is a warm weather spot except for San Francisco.
I doubt there is any connection between WestJet flying to Fort Lauderdale and the proposed codeshare.
