Well inside 24 hours they assign it to reserves, I'm sure you, just like me, when you were on reserve were capable of seeing what you MIGHT be flying the next day by checking open time. Now instead of letting it sit in open time, you (a line holder) pick it up. Now you fly it, does the reserve fly? No. And that's how picking up open time prevents recalls. Reserves don't get assignments, they stay under guarentee and there's no reason to recall. As for junior manning, I agree you have to answer while you're on duty and you can't avoid an acars message, but it was my understanding that PSA isn't in Junior Manning mode.... so that kinda a moot point isn't it.
