Just one of the many things that are better at FDX rather than other carriers!!

At Flying Tigers we also had pay protection if a junior pilot was trained first. The big difference is that when a junior pilot was activated, ONE pilot was protected. It was only done on a one for one basis. My guess is that both Tigers and Seaboard would have challanged that pay protection because the junior pilot activated is getting first year pay. Not sure how an arbitrator would look at that. I do know that when Nixon imposed a nationwide pay freeze Seaboard used it as an excuse to keep pilots on first year pay. BTW first year pay was $650 a month, no extra no matter how many hours you flew. MAX hours 30 days=120!!!
