Our interviews were conducted by a panel of Northwest Airlines pilots. The interview process was nearly identical to the one Northwest was using when they were still hiring. Once Northwest stopped hiring in the spring the choices of good airlines to work at started to thin out and we had multiple 6000+ hour pilots, even 10,000 hour pilots come to Compass to interview because there were not any better options. Their choices were to quit the industry for a while or come here.
Next time you jumpseat on Compass, dont forget to tell that pilot that came from United, or ATA, or Champion, or Air Tran, or TWA, that Compass is just like every other regional out there hiring warm bodies willing to fly for free.
