Most newhires seem to be under 30 and between 500-1200 hours TT.

Here are a few excerpts...
--------------------
Non-reved into Salisbury, MD the day before, stayed at the Microtel. PDT rate is $59, with a free shuttle. Nice place with continental breakfast. Arrived at 9:00 for the interview. Started with the written. It is a 50 question hodgepodge of ATP, AIM, company info, mental math, and Jepps. A lot of material to study for but get especially familiar with 121 ops and read the AIM carefully as questions are very specific and at times tricky. The Jepps portion was straightforward asking basic questions about an approach plate, DP, and L-chart. Identify FAF, MEA, MSA, etc. 80 percent required to pass. Of the four that interviewed, two were dismissed after the test. Next Sheila Parker of HR gave a company overview. She was very nice and willing to answer questions. Last came the 2 on 1 HR interview with Sheila and John Buchanan, the chief. This lasted maybe 15 minutes max. They made me feel very relaxed and joked around quite a bit. Basic questions regarding driving history, willingness to move, why I wanted to leave my current job, what would current employer say about me, etc. They said they would send a letter either way in 7-10 days but called me the next day to offer the job. The company seems very professional and things have really started to turn around for PDT since the America West merger. I am excited to start training. Thanks to previous posters. Good luck to all.

The interview was very pleasant and I was just asked the normal questions by Shiela Parker the HR rep and John Buchannon the Chief, nothing to far out, it was basically a short conversation about Piedmont and my experience. It was really just a size you up type of thing but they were friendly and layed out a relaxing atmosphere. The test everyone was raving about being new and really tough is new but only marginally tough. I did miss a few that I should've remembered being a CFII (i.e.runway lighting)but the answers eluded me that day. Study your ATP written and AIM and some things about the company and you'll all be fine. Our group started with five and two were released after taking the exam. I've gotten a letter telling me I'm in the hiring pool I guess because they don't have a class date set up yet but I hope it happens soon, everyone I met at Piedmont was really outgoing and friendly, it's a very solid company with some of the best benefits packages out there and I'm really looking forward to becoming a part of the Piedmont Team.
