In '97 I believe the regional airlines were still under part 135 regs, correct? If so, they were not limited to 30 hours a week, 100 hours a month or 1,000 hours a year... Instead they had different limits (not sure since I never flew part 135) but I think they could fly up to 120 hours a month?
Either way, just for comparison $23,000.00 in 2008 had about the same buying power as $17,336.08 in 1997.
