Bogeydriver, when I returned from my first furlough, MANY captains I flew with gave me an earful about having to pay into the furlough fund. In spite of that, I always made a point to thank everyone I was flying with for the fund. But to suggest that everyone (or even a lot of people) support the fund is comical. There have been a few threads on this very forum that suggest otherwise and as Barefootsailing pointed out, it only passed marginally this go around. As for committees, the answer is no. Not sure when I would have found much time as I spent the past few years flying my butt off, right up to the moment I'm furloughed, that is. I guess you asked because you would maintain that a lack of service to ALPA invalidates any gripes about it. I respectfully disagree but you are entitled to your opinion.
