Yes, they have a job to do, and I would rather that they were on the IPA list, but I think they have bigger fish to fry than buddying up with me just to screw me sometime in the future.
Captain Cook is right on, I am not here to buddy up with anyone, just here to do my job. I enjoy APC to stay informed about an industry I truly enjoy. No one assigned me to be here or to spy on anyone. I can only speak for myself but I have never heard of any APC or flight supervisor encouraged to do so. I know of no APC that is out to screw anyone, we are only trying to do a job that we were hired for. Most of the ANC APC's are stand up guys and they are there to support you not screw you.
I have fellow aviators at JAL that after 18 years were told a few days ago that as of July 1, they will no longer be employed. Let's hope that we can find the cost savings the company wants and not alter one letter of the hard earned IPA contract!
