To put it in even more perspective, commuting out of SJU to just about anywhere can be tough, especially with the kind of schedules they have. If you are making first officer pay, it is pretty hard to justify.You might actually be better off trying to find another job if you are really connected to being in the NE.

On the other hand, above statement has a ring of truth. If you are not married, no kids and no real ties where you are now, going to SJU should be a awesome experience for you that I bet many of those people on furlough would be happy to have. You really need to try to hook up with some people down there and spend time looking for a decent place to live. It can make all the difference.
