Each company seems to polarize their lenses in a different way. I never had a problem with the Maui Jims's I used to have. They were polarized at an angle as opposed to horizontal or vertically. After I lost two pairs ($150 each! ) I have since switched the the un-polarized Serengeti's. More like $90. The gradient lenses seem kind of cool, darker on top lighter at the bottom.
