While the CRJ cetainly is no "dream machine" especially the 200, I would rather be in it than a dash. Why? Faster, quieter, Most all flights are above FL200. and our MX doesnt use the full deferal period for the APU as is common at Peidmont (im guessing). I've DHDed on Peidmont countless times the last couple of years and can count on one hand the number of times the APU actually worked. However, I bet the Dash is more fun to fly. Not sure if I would say our flleet is in "shoddy shape". If PSA and Peidmont were to merge, how many pilots at Peidmont would stay in the Dash if the could hold the CRJ? Excluding those close to retirement. I'm guessing not many. I have no interest in arguing who is better because the answer is neither. Both are $h!tholes but PSA would be getting the short end of the stick. IMO
Your reply is respectable. But To me you come off as suffering at least a tiny bit from SJS. More people would stay in the Dash then you realize. CRJ's just aren't that great dude. I would never leave the Dash to fly the CRJ-200, especially if I had to go back on reserve which with my seniority I would. I would only consider it if it improved my quality of life and only if I could hold a line on the 700 for the sake of my resume. I could care less about fast and high. I can make the argument I'm a better stick and rudder pilot then an RJ guy due to the fact that we are always in the weather with half the automation you have flying a systems intensive aircraft that is fracking hard to land! But I have no idea how good of a pilot you are, so that argument holds no water, just as your postion does neither.

Your pay rates are approriately better due to the fact that you fly a higher capacity aircraft. That is how it should be. But I will point out our first year f/o pay is stronger. Not that it matters becuase as you stated, they both ultimately suck.
