i saved up for flight lessons and stuff when i was 18 instead of buying a car. well, after not going to ATP or ERAU, i saved myself money by going to the local FBO and flying there. i worked out some deals and saved a lot of money.. the money that i saved paid for my car essentially in full

.. all the more reason why i like the FBO approach instead of the ATP one
