"If at the end of this process we end up with an EXTRA 150-250 people in the back of the 27 than are needed to fly the schedule at "normal" BLGs; I would bet that those (we) S/Os would gladly work the reduced blgs even down to 48/60. 48/60 is better than 0/0.(furlough)"
Just out of curiousity, how long are you willing to ride the 48/60 hour train? For the next 3-5 years till mandatory retirements start kicking in and thinning out the pilot workforce? What if the company says you get to still work your 15/19 days on reserve and like it? It's hard to get another job if you are still on the hook for your workdays, especially as a commuter.
I'm pretty junior and don't want to lose my job either, but would that not just be a "B" scale for everyone in the bottom airplane to get 48/60 hours because we have 150% plus staffing in the 727 while they staff the other aircraft to appropriote amounts and pay them all at or near normal BLGs?
