That approach to decision making always serves us well. Just as some of you are concerned about our union leadership, I am just as concerned about the rank and file. They have to go together - a synergistic relationship. From all the emotion I read here, neither side is ready for prime time.
Ok, let's hear your BETTER ideas. ALPA national financial backing, E&FA, legal, etc. is certainly a positive, but the current negotiating model is broken. Tell us some recent success stories that truly benefitted the pilot group in the industry and specifically at FDX. The 48/60 contract provision is a joke and so is the HKG LOA. The recent FAA decision to back off extended rest for ULR ops is also pathetic -- where was the ALPA PAC on that one? The rest of the contract is acceptable to me for the most part as is.

Anyone with previous MEC experience interested in the top three leadership positions had an opportunity to be part of a successful solution to many of the issues we face on the property. Guess what? They were part of the problem, not the solution. Prime example -- HKG LOA -- only 1 guy had the ballzz to vote against the pathetic language in that LOA. The other 11 are just yes-men with a lack of independent thought. You want one of those guys in the top three?

Our representation and negotiating models are broken and need fixin' brother.

Who do you want at the table when the company goes after concessions at the next round of contract negotiations? Concessions for pay, vacation, and retirement (B Fund) are key areas to consider.

Can I get an "Amen, brothers and sistas?"

Looking forward to your comments.
