C'mon now we all know the FAA medical certificate is a joke. We all know ways to get around stuff, and thats even if they check. I'd love to know of a case where an AME was blamed for a bogus medical resulting in an accident, it doesn't happen. The medical is just a way for retired doctors to make some easy cash on the side.
I think this is a bad idea, determining fitness for flight. But what can you do, the FAA is more concerned about were are ash trays are right now.
