This story only reinforces my new favorite saying: "Act Your Wage." If somebody's making $18,000/year, they should behave like they're 18 years old. I'm sure that if the ground agencies payed more money, they could employee people who were not of this moral fiber and would behave accordingly. But you get what you pay for.
Definitely a "get what you pay for" type thing. You pay for thugs, you get thugs. Same with the wheel chair pushers and aircraft cleaners. I have always loved the fact that I have to go through a background check, an airline hiring process and a gate agent to gain access to the $25 million airplane I am entrusted with but some punk with a GED and a criminal record gets free access to the aircraft and their contents. Well done folks.
