I completed half of my CFII training at RAA in Deland, FL back in 2001. What a waste of time and money that was. The ground school consisted of the instructor borrowing my Gleim book and asking me questions out of it. That is what I paid $500 for! He didn't even bring his own book.
I could have read that damn book on my own and spent the $500 on beer.

In 2004, I saw that instructor at RAA in Arizona and guess what, he is now one of the bosses there.
After 5 or 6 lessons, I promptly dropped out of their program and went to a more reputable school to finish my CFII...where they had a much better ground school.

You can get all the ratings that RAA will give you for about $40,000 at a local flight school.
