I think there is still a bid open with United for UAX flying as a contingency for a failed Mesa. But Mesa is still here and flying.
Under the current leadership I also don't see any desire to do anything. The fact that JG is coming back to fly the line means to me that there is even less likelihood of anything. He was pretty important for the training and with his position gone I think any likelihood of something other than what we have is pretty low.
Look at the fate of the last two airlines our CEO was involved with if you wish to see the future of AWAC. One of them is now flying 9 airplanes and may eventually go to be a paper airline with all lift contracted out. The other is now just a ground handling company.
I think AWAC could easily end up as a ground handling company with the flying being done at some point. Stranger things have happened.
Hate to say it but i agree ... especially after seeing there ground ops at work i'll give em a couple years to string out on that one... if that? Heck i couldn't care less about mainline united though if they haven't gotten it thus far...it's useless they might as well operate car washes. As for the flying, unless they take a risk and use some of that private backed capital to buy some airplanes it's hard to see a flying future. Yes AWAC ground ops would hire you back if you lost your flying im sure. jk
