I won't get the type until it is obviously my last resort.
I suspect some airlines may be more concerned about or threatened by the type than others.

1) and 4) above may be somewhat mitigated if you applied to the other airline first, waited a year and then got the type and applied at SWA. Then it is reasonable to expect that SWA was not your first choice.
