You want to make management happy, don't ever pick up any open time and you instead are helping them dole out Continous Duty over nights to reserve pilots who are going to do it for no extra pay and never make over 72 hours pay for the month. We put our open time rules in the contract for a reason.. to reward pilots who want to go work a little extra and to help pay our bills. Again, if you can convince all pilots not to pick up open time, you'd be management's hero for the month.. hell for all time I guess.
