Boise has access to all of the great outdoors of Idaho, but also has reasonable nightlife, culture, and progressive thinking (for ID). Plenty of relocated californians.

PHX is great if you like to shop, golf, or ride ATV's.

LAS is what it is...if you love that kind of action, there's no better place. Otherwise it's pretty much like PHX.

SAT has a nice riverwalk and downtown nightlife.

SFO has them all beat hands down...if you can afford to live there.
