Are regional airline pilots seriously this immature and bitter? We collectively, as pilots have brought the industry down to where it is. You sir have no concept of where this industry came from, and where it is heading now. You are a regional airline pilot. I was a regional airline pilot. We all took jobs working for laughable paychecks performing critical and skillful duties that involved the lives of our passengers. We are less than rewarded for it, we are basically paid in dog food. First year pay at regionals is terrible. Second and third year pay for an FO is also sub-par. There is almost no difference in a couple dollars an hour difference between certain regionals. Whether you feel like the chief meathead because you are at a 'top tier' regional, and you gaulk at scumbags like me who worked for bottom feeders is negligable. All regional FO pay is very low, and as it gets lower, more and more kids are lining up to work for it.
I was flying years back with a retired airline captain on a part 135 trip, and he looked at me and said, " Do you know why the pilot profession has been degraded to a glorified cab driver career?" As I nod my head he points directly in my direction and exclaims, "Because of You". I showed up for that flying gig to work for deplorable wages. There were 50 people behind me who would have done it for less. The less money an FO is willing to work for, the more captain pay will suffer because FO's will accept less just to pilot that shiny bird from the left seat. We are all at fault. Not just GOJET, but Republic, Skwyest, Pinnacle, Mesa, TranStates, etc, etc, etc. Everyone who has worked for $21 an hour. Collectively. I highly doubt that your brand new lexus has much larger rims than the gentlemans lexus who works at gojet. I would even wager to say that your paychecks are, surprisingly, similar.
