Nothing will happen in congress this year on age 60. It is not impossible that the FAA goes along with the ICAO mandate, but it sort of seems odd that they would open themselves up to that sort of liability without first doing some pretty major studies and going through the rule making process.
The HR 5576 has been passed by the House raising the age 60 retirement age to age 65 in line with the ICAO rule which will change November 23, 2006. HR 5576 passed without Sec 114. The Senate has yet to vote on HR 5576. If passed by the Senate with Sec 114 included then HR 5576 will need to go to conference to harmonize the bills.
