Did you actually read Section 7G ? Reserve vacation extension has nothing to do with touching R days. It is merely a formula that lets you know, given the R day value for your seat, how many days of Reserve your 48 hours is worth. If you did the extension worksheet on the Bid Processing page and it said you could extend 5 days, you now have 13 days of vacation. You owe the company 2 R days. If you have any R days on your original line that don't conflict with the vacation or buffer, that's where scheduling will put your 2 days. If all your scheduled R days are covered by vacation or buffer, they will be put on days otherwise free of duty. In the Vips section marked Reserve Line Reconstruction, you can submit preferences for where those R days fall. Just as a "for instance," say your 8 days were at the beginning of the month. All you scheduled R days are in one block at the end of the month. You extend 5 days. You now have 13 days of vacation and only have to sit 2 days of reserve (15 R days - 13 Vacation days.) Since your 13 days plus 48 hr buffer only conflicts with the first 2 or 3 days of your scheduled Reserve block, your 2 days of Reserve duty will fall somewhere in the remaining 12-13 days of the original R day block. It's up to you to let scheduling know where you want those days. However, much like a VTO or Custom line, it's only a preference. Your final results, like your mileage, may vary.
