Wow someone who gets it. 3 years until age 65 goes away but then wait 3 more years while they negotiate a new contract. That puts us awfully close to the 7 year recall rights. I am planning my life like this job will never come back. I hope I am pleasantly surprised and totally wrong. If not at least I got to buy a really nice leather jacket as a memento.

If they actually layoff, very probable, I hope you are wrong about the time frame.
This is a choice the company is making, one they don't have to make.
