I wish they would though. With the national seniority list and my flight time, I could bid a decent 777 captains berth, unfortunately my pay per seat would go down from where it is now if I did..............go figure.

ALPA National is like having a lawyer that represents both the plantiff and the defendant and tells both that this is the best way to do things.
Personally, there should be an ALPA National Safety organization that brings all of the unions together to communicate about and then fight or lobby for safety related issues. Heck, maybe possibly even fight for the future profession.
The union should then be split into autonomous Mainline and Subsidiary groups not represented in any way shape or form by the same leadership. AirTran, Delta, United, Continental, etc should be 100% separate from ASA, Comair, Coex, Colgan and so on.
But I'll admit, if I've thought about it then its already been thought about and theres a reason why its not happening.
