I want to do it because I would be able to save money for flight training and be back with my freinds. But I don't want to do it because I would be working for family and might get stuck there.

40K a year is a decent starting salary. More than you'll make as a first officer your first year. But still you run the risk of getting comfortable. Nobody wants to leave a decent job and good friends for something that is uncertain. It's only for you to decide, my friend.
