Ah yes my improper grammar (as pointed out by many before you) did counteract the point of my original post . However, I never claimed to be an English major, and as demonstrated my writing abilities are not my strongest attribute. I do have strong views on the importance of higher education but can not articulate them as well as some others on here. I have been caught off guard by people on here understating the value of a University degree program. Where I grew up, with my family and friends, it was never are you going to college but where are you going to college. It saddens me to see some on here try to diminish the importance of a higher education. Especially after watching how far and fast respect for our profession has fallen in the short nine years I have been doing this. The last thing we need to do is cheapen this career even further by DISCOURAGING young pilots from going to college. In the end though, with such a surplus of pilots, it is a moot point with out a degree or a dad in upper management you will have a very slim chance of ever getting on with the major players.
