I was really curious about the lowest flight plan fuel a line qualified 135 Capt. would accept overhead the ETP alternate? Is there a regulatory min value?

Would you ever accept a flight plan that shows arriving at the ETP depressurization alternate with a fuel value of zero?

Obviously in the actual operation the chance of failure at the critical point is remote at best, I'm really more interested in the flight planning aspect of this scenario.

I was having a conversation with a friend the other day and failure at the ETP came up. It got me thinking about how the dispatcher and capt. approach the fuel required at the ETP and still advertise the A/C max range to charter clients.

Also, I know what you mean about computerized flight planning, without flight planning software, I'd never go flying

Cheers
