Trying to fix the Federal fiscal mess by destroying an entire industry is not the way to do it.

The big questions: what do you pay for, and how is it proportioned?

Are they proposing a fee per flight? If so, the airlines love this one--there are far more GA movements per day than airline...which means the bulk of the Fees goes to GA.

AOPA says it should be based on the number of people per movement....which means the airlines would pay the bulk of it.

Would the military have to pay their share? Based on people, movements, MGTOW, or number of missiles carried?

Is it only going to be for IFR flights, or any flight? If you don't file a flight plan, don't squawk, takeoff and land from uncontrolled airfields, and never use the radio, does that make it free? If so, there will be more accidents from midairs (TCAS less likely to help), and when airplanes are lost and overdue, no one will know where to look for them.

Will there be an annual registration fee for airplanes, like your car? Will you have to pay to renew your FAA certificates, or to upgrade? Have to use a credit-card to call Flight Service ("....A division of Lockheed Corporatation. Say the name of the state....").

And how much would the fees be?

Ironically, I was just thinking over the last week about getting an airplane to commute to work, due to a potential job-change. It would already be expensive, but I could almost justify it for the increased time at home.

This gives me pause.

If anyone knows the answers to these questions, let us know.

Just about everything you just said makes my Blood BOIL to think about what could happen Like I said I dont know why more people are not talking about this, I have nothing against the present administration but this is the reason we need checks and balances in our government
