I don't have exact numbers, but I would estimate there are between 5-10 child/stranger abductions PER YEAR in the WHOLE US!
Almost all the milk-carton photos and post office photos of missing children were taken, illegally, by one of their parents or other family members.

I guess I must be one of the rarities. I know someone (Delta pilot) firsthand that had their daughter abducted and murdered by strangers. You're correct that the vast majority of abductions are done by family members, but I don't believe the statistics support your point of view that the number is "almost zero." The small percentage of abductions done by strangers is quite often fatal.
Lose a child. Then maybe you'll pay attention. Or you can spout platitudes.
