This isn't an IRS thing. It's a State/City thing. I guess with an almost 9% unemployment rate nationwide, states and cities are looking for as much taxation as they can get to make up for their shortfall. I wonder if someone lives in a state that has a state or city payroll tax, will Louisville take that into account as it applies its occupational tax? Probably not. That sucks!
