FYI... I copied this from the Jefferson County Pass-Through form. Unless something has changed with the tax law that I don't know about, you can submit this form to UPS Payroll and reduce your tax from 100% to the amount proportional to the time you spend working in Jefferson County (which, for a pilot, is very little).

-------------------------------------

JEFFERSON COUNTY KENTUCKY OCCUPATIONAL TAX PERCENTAGE OF WORK STATEMENT (“PASS-THROUGH”)

All employees working in Jefferson County, Ky are subject to the Jefferson County occupational tax on all wages. This tax is assessed based on the amount of time you work in Jefferson county and your residential status.

Your residential status is determined from your primary resident address in the Human Resources system. The percentage of time worked in Jefferson County is defaulted to 100% for all employees who are assigned to a Jefferson County work location address. This percentage is known as the pass-thru.

You may reduce the 100% by the amount of time you spend working outside Jefferson County, KY. To do this, please indicate the percent of working days that are spent working within Jefferson County, KY.

________________Percent of my working time is spent within Jefferson County.
(Indicate percent above)

EMPLOYEE STATEMENT
I request that occupational tax be deducted from my wages according to the above percentage. If my status changes, I understand that it is my responsibility to notify UPS Payroll immediately, and to complete a new employee statement.

I hereby certify that to the best of my knowledge, the information stated above is true and accurate and can be supported in a tax audit.
