Oh, trust me, I'm not an ALPA apologist by any means, but what I am is someone who likes to point out hypocricy. I do appreciate the fact that you think you can tell everytning about me from some posts. Can you teach that skill to my wife?

The Midwest pilots spent a lot of dues money for the ALPA expertise on scope clause, ALPA national failed miserably
So, there were no Midwest pilots on the negotiating committee? Seriously, While I do think that the ALPA lawyers are not as good as management's, why did you guys ratify it? No one at Midwest has answered that question. National cannot force a contract on you. You have to agree to it. That is the hypocricy I was referring to. No one at Midwest wants to accept that fact that you guys voted FOR a POS contract. Now you want to blame everyone else for your own shortsightedness.

Not to defame someone, but you'll get no argument from me on this point.

Please, all those carriers failed because ALPA wasn't able to effect the economic conditions or management's stupidity? PA, TWA, Braniff, and Eastern were done in by management, not employees or Unions. Well, the final nail in the coffin for Eastern was the unions, but Lorenzo was the catalyst and culprit. ALPA was just supporting the below wing strike, but took the brunt of the press. Read 'Hard Landing." It's not an ALPA book, so maybe you will.
People seem to think that ALPA is some super organization that just comes in and makes things better or worse for you unilateraly. That is wrong. They are no more stronger or weaker than the level of support given by the pilots at any particular carrier. You say ALPA failed you. I say that the Midwest pilots failed themselves. Don't worry, I see it at my carrier too. Pilots who are too lazy or indifferent to actually pick up a contract when they have a question and instead just want someone to spoonfeed them the answer. Or just vote what the MEC recommends, instead of actually reading the TA and asking questions. Or not even bothering to vote, regardless if it's a yes or no.
