Every regional pilot should just quit all at the same time... It's not like they can afford to pay their bills or feed their kids as it is anyway, so it's really no risk. Makes me second guess leaving my little cubicle that I'm typing this from. The problem is we have all of these kids coming out of school these days with debt. This has become the norm, so they will take whatever job is relevant just to start paying that debt back. Maybe if education didn't cost so much more than the income levels (in all career fields, but especially this one.) then maybe people wouldn't accept these 16K Net income jobs... Maybe they'd say pay me 35 - 45K (STILL underpaid) my first year, then call me back, and walk the hell out of there.
