The long and short of it is that people under stress do not behave in what would normally be considered a rational fashion. Under high levels of stress, higher brain functions are lost almost immediately and people revert to some very primal behaviors. One manifestation of this is a "gathering instinct" and it is well documented. (ex: Running into a burning house to retrieve a set of keys).
In short, mocking people who behave oddly in these high stress situations is actually rather ignorant. It's kind of like mocking the mentally ill.
Mr. Deltabound, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
