I think this package is aimed at our Northern brothers,they still have a pension so it makes sense.The big D would have to cough up a lot of cash to buy the Southern guys off and that ain't going to happen.
I was referring to the DAL buyout pre-bk in around 2005 where guys were getting bought out and left with the big lump sum of their pensions before the plan was flushed. Not any of the recent employee offerings where pilots were not eligible. Some guys rolled the dice that the pension would still be there when they retired and we all know how that turned out. Guys were basically working for free when they factored in how much they left on the table. This is what I garnered from other DAL pilots as I was not here then. I agree that almost no south guys will take the buyout but in any group there is always that one guy. So I'm banking on moving up one number.
