Big Daddy et al,

I've talked to a few Northern bros, some relatively senior (20+, a330/74 FO), some junior (10+, a320/75 FO). From what i understand, the senior guys will most likely stay put if they're on the heavies, since all they do is a cushy 12 day trip/mo, and they usually deviate on both ends, which makes switching to SLC/LAX unnecessary (unless they change their trips drastically before the 1st big bid post SOC).

The junior guys will more than likely swarm our honey comb, as expected. The MSP guys may be more inclined to stay if they're used to ice-fishing year round j/k, but the DTW guys will more than likely pick something closer to home (i'd do the same if i'm given the opportunity). Interesting side note is that most are telling me the number of west coasters are not as high as everybody thinks. (some even tell me it's less than 100) I haven't been able to get any scientific proof to that.

Either way, I think the deal breaker is how they plan to use SEA as an int'l hub. It'll serve to dampen the blow on us Southies trying to stay out west. The other factor is how they're dealing with the ANC 742 closure/PERP.

I have many friends from the North side, and i welcome you all with open arms. I know the merger's done, time to move on, no hard feelings. If you want to take my seat, and you're senior to me, you deserve it.

Your south bro who's studying recurrent, and then start initial the week later. Fun times!
