I think one thing that the media really needs to understand is that if pilots had better career earning power then guys who were sharp, professional and have 'the right stuff' will start coming back into this career field.

Public sentiment seems to be "well they want more money - but why should i pay them more to fly me safely to my destination?"

A majority of the media seems to be missing the point altogether with respect to who chooses to become a pilot in the first place.
