Take a look at the thread path at the top of the page.
Airline Pilot Central Forums>Career Builder>Ask the Pilot Recruiter>making of a well rounded proffesional pilot (Emphasis was mine.)

Milky even took the time to add the appropriate editorial insert.

Maybe the comment was backhanded, but lets be honest. CakeOnIt wants "a thread focusing on the "extra things" that help elevate a professional pilot to the top"
Here's the first one: if you are contacting a recruiter or a company rep, be meticulous with your spelling. If I received an email from a prospective recruit that had the most important word in the title spelled incorrectly, I would be tempted to ******can it outright. At a minimum, this would be an additional hurdle that the recruit would have to overcome when it came time to interview.
First impressions mean a lot.
Sure, this is an informal forum. But c'mon. You want us to take this particular topic seriously, right?
As far as this thread goes, I had to laugh when I read the title. I thought it was a joke. It took me this long to even decide to open it up and look at it, and it didn't surprise me that the first comment was about your spelling. It did surprise me that so many people didn't understand the [sic] insert.

Milky got it exactly right, all the way down to the idea of keeping his comment short and simple.

Hog,
Thanks for getting it. Sadly it was missed on most.
