Sometimes it makes me sick to hear some people blast the hell out of 66K a year as a second year captain. I understand that the decline in pay is not a good thing, $18 an hour for flying 20 passengers is more than absurd. At some point though you have to come to the reality that 66K a year is more than most people in this country will ever make in their entire lives. Im not gonna sit here and say that I would be satisfied topping off at that kind of money, but give me a break. You could make the argument of how the responsibility of all the people behind you warrants compensation, but the reality of the situation says that we arent Bill Gates or anything of the sorts.

Im not saying we should ever settle for anything, you should always want to aim higher, but dont get on here and blast that money when its not a bad salary. If you are fiscally responsible that should be plenty of money to do most of the things you want to do with life, add onto that a second salary of the wifey's with the 50K teacher salary and all is well.

SAAB, you are just about to start a new job at XJet, not a bad gig for right now, certainly not the top but you are on your way. If you feel so strongly about the industry get out, simple as that, sounds ignorant as hell on my part but seriously.
