Since the NWA policy is not contractual it lives at the discretion of the company. There was a push in negotiations however the company refused to move into policy and insisted they stick with what was contractual.
The policy would have a quite different effect on Delta verses the old NWA system since the patterns of comutting are quite different. There is also a cultural difference. Northwest had a pecking order. They gave priority to management for non rev travel. In addition they gave priority passes for check airman and their families. It was excepted as part of their culture. Non rev travel at Delta has always been the same for all employees. The MEC is trying to get the policy extended to the new Delta however I think management will stay entrenched with the current non rev system.
