At the interview for my first US 121 job(when 121 jobs featured pretty big airplanes), after the face-to-face, the interviewers were reviewing my logbooks in the interview room while I awaited the verdict outside.

The guy ahead had been flying for Carnival/"PanAm", (an ACTUAL 121 carrier!), and had been rejected. Others more successful had been sent across the way to FlightProfit Intl for a prehire simcheck.

The main interviewer came out and told me, "You hired. We won't bother with a simcheck, we know what you've been flying, and it doesn't take a simulator to tell us you know how to fly". Both pilot-types had also flown the "18" and the "3".

Finally recognized for all that multiengine-tailwheel time that people had said was a waste of time!
