It turns out that pilots will fly for a lot less money than pilots enjoyed in previous decades. But, now that you 'made' it, you want to have it the way it was before. You just don't get that before, you would probably not have gotten a job at a major airline. You almost exclusively had to be a military pilot or spend decades grinding it out to even have a chance at a major airline job.
And I would be ok with that.... It's not like I'm doing any better as a result of Deregulation... and the rest of the pilots who did "make it" are doing worse... So go figure.
