Saying the MD-10-10 is underpowered isn't really true. If it was underpowered it would not get airborne.
The -10 just does not have any excess power when compared to the MD-11.
If all you ever flew was the -10 you would not realize what you didn't have and think it was a great airplane.
Problem is we are all spoiled by the -11
