This is where I become disenchanted with ALPA. In a perfect world, ALPA would be setting the standard for the professional pilot; pay, scope, retirement, medical, disability, training, safety, etc. What about the young pilot at ASA, Comair, or other Regionals in his or her 20's and 30's that will start a family and want to own a home and send their kids to college. Is ALPA serving them properly? Is ALPA setting the standard for their career? Well, obviously it's not a perfect world and ALPA is collecting dues from all of us, but are they making the "Industry" better, or are we keeping the status quo, or moving backwards?
I look at the ALPA monthly magazine and it just seems like a whole bunch of back slapping going on, but absolutely no teeth. Or to quote and old tv commercial, "where's the beef"?
