Of course there could have been extenuating circumstances It could also have been exactly what it **looks** like - a poor approach to a landing, what looks like a badly timed flare, followed by an extensive float, a headwork error not to go around, and a final ending in the sand.
In any case - we should all put ourselves in a similar situation and decide how s/he would have handled the situation differently and maybe such a thing won't happen to us!

Very true... I still dont have sound....
It is a very poor decision. To land that is. If in fact it was just an out right bad decision. I would still like to see the rest of the back story...
