actually, it can't.
when S5 did CLE-SLC, they could just barely make it in the 170 with required reserves. i've been told by more than a couple captains & check airmen that flew those legs that there were too many diversions due to guys hitting higher than forecast winds and not being able to make it. The 175 is the same plane, just longer and a higher ZFW.
